Loiter Areas

When a user must transit through an area to get somewhere else, the Loiter Areas feature can be used to ensure they don't linger in the transit area. This is a common requirement in carparks, when a user must transit the public parking area to reach their designated parking space.

How it works

When a user enters the defined loiter area, a timer is started. If the user does not exit the loiter area within that defined time, they are placed into a virtual 'holding area' and prevented from exiting the loiter area. At this point, they must contact an authorised person who can reset their status via software or a keypad.

Loiter Areas can only be used with Anti-Passback enabled and must use entry and exit readers on all access points.
