Emergency Egress
The last thing you want in an emergency situation is the access control system preventing a smooth evacuation of an occupied building.
One of Protege's many built in Programmable Functions is an Emergency Egress function.
How it works
An Emergency Egress function is typically triggered by the building fire alarm system. The fire alarm system is connected to the Protege system via any programmed input.
Once activated, the function will immediately unlock all doors that are defined in the egress door group, and prevent anything from locking them again.
When the fire alarm is reset, the Emergency Egress function secures all doors in the group.
The Emergency Egress function is not intended to replace the emergency door release devices located at individual doors on the egress path, rather it is designed to aide in an expeditious evacuation.
