Building Automation
We are dedicated to transforming building management with innovative building control system solutions that drive efficiency, enhance security, and empower smarter, more sustainable operations.
Redefining Smart Building Management with Seamless Automation
Energy efficiency is increasingly important in today’s landscape of tighter budgets and increasing focus on sustainability.
Unlock next-level efficiency with a building energy management system that optimizes Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC), lighting, and security, reducing costs while enhancing performance. Provide real-time data to make smarter, energy-saving decisions across all systems.
Imagine occupancy-based controls that activate only when needed and automatically power down lighting and non-essential systems when spaces are vacant. Motion sensors light low-traffic areas as necessary, while precise time-based scheduling puts you in control—right down to the second, no technician required.
Ready to transform your building into a model of efficiency? Let Protege make it happen.
Benefits of Building Automation
Transform your building’s efficiency and sustainability with our building automation systems (BAS). Here’s how we help drive a smarter, greener future in real-time.
Controlling Options
- Optimized Energy Consumption: By leveraging real-time analytics, our system fine-tunes energy use by adjusting lighting, HVAC, and non-essential items such as photocopiers, and monitors based on occupancy and time of day.
- Occupant Comfort: Our BAS enhances temperature, and lighting, creating a comfortable, productive environment.
- Enhanced Security and Safety: Integrated with access control, surveillance and fire safety, our BAS provides a secure environment for peace of mind.
Let our building automation systems lead your building to new levels of efficiency, comfort, and sustainability.
What is a Building Automation System?
Building automation systems (BAS) integrate various systems within a building - such as HVAC, lighting, security, and access control - into a single platform, allowing building owners and managers to optimize energy efficiency, reduce energy costs, and improve occupant comfort. Whether in enterprise, industrial, residential, or commercial premises, BAS can be customized to meet the specific needs of each building.
Advanced Building Automation Features for Comprehensive Control
Controlling Items
Devices such as lighting and HVAC systems can be controlled directly via output modules. The relay in the Protege system turns on an intermediate relay which then turns on the power circuit.
Devices can also be controlled via programmable functions which use system information to make intelligent decisions that can result in the control of physical devices within a building and change system behaviour.
Integration
Protege integrates with many automation systems using our Automation and Control protocol. This enables you to use lighting controllers that allow ramping or scene control where lighting turns on progressively, rather than just on or off. Activating a group of lights or a lighting scene can be directly linked to an action or event in the Protege system to improve energy efficiency.
Protege also integrates with many Building Management Systems, which run much larger HVAC solutions. Information is passed to the system via the Modbus protocol, allowing the communication and control of objects (inputs, outputs, areas, doors) from a standard industrial automation package
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the role of access control in building automation?
Access control systems provide data on building occupancy and movement, which BAS can use to adjust lighting, HVAC, and security based on the presence of occupants.
Is building automation suitable for small buildings?
Yes, building automation can benefit buildings of all sizes, from small offices and retail to bank branches and pre-schools.
How do I maintain a building automation system?
Regular maintenance, software updates, and system health checks are essential for ensuring optimal BAS performance and longevity.
