Modbus Integration

Unlock the potential of seamless integration with Protege GX and Modbus building automation protocol. Build a dynamic, flexible ecosystem that enables you to streamline access and operations, while increasing security.

Protege GX offers two methods of integrating with Modbus systems: Modbus Server Integration and Modbus Client Integration.

Modbus Server Integration Modbus Client Integration
How It Works
  • One or more Protege GX controllers act as Modbus servers
  • One Protege GX controller acts as a Modbus client
Benefits and Features
  • Integrates the Protege GX controller and module network into a Modbus system, making it part of a unified BMS
  • Allows inputs and outputs connected to the Protege GX system to be read and controlled by the Modbus client
  • Streamlined management and operations, as a Protege GX controller is used to monitor and control up to 32 building automation devices such as thermostats, sensors, and humidity controls
  • The controller reads and writes digital inputs (inputs), coils (outputs) and registers (data values) on connected Modbus server devices.
Communication Protocol
  • Communcation over ethernet (TCP/IP)
  • Communication over RS-485
